Toyota GR Supra Super GT: When sportsmanship goes beyond

Although we still do not know the new generation of Toyota Supra in all its glory , without camouflage, the Japanese firm has taught what will be one more step in the Gazoo Racing brand, the Toyota GR Supra Super GT . Yes, the name is as complicated as the model is attractive, at least from what we deduce from its silhouette.

And that is that Toyota has shown only that, its sideline mixed between shadows, and although it hardly see components, we can highlight a large spoiler that will expand the sportsmanship already existing in the "standard" model of the new Supra.

It is planned that Toyota show the vehicle at the Tokyo Motor Show , early next year, taking advantage of that they will be in their land. The name Super GT, apart from being very sporty, corresponds to the category of coupe vehicles, mainly of Japanese manufacture, although it is twinned with the German DTM, and since 2017 it allows cars such as Mercedes, BMW or Porsche in its ranks.

Even though the Toyota GR Supra Super GT will be very similar in aesthetics with the Toyota Supra , there will be certain elements that will adapt to the Super GT category, such as Brembo brakes, BBS rims and a lighter total weight.

Finally, and as a celebration of the well-doing of the Japanese firm in the different competitions, it is expected that the Toyota Supra Super GT is present escorted by the Yaris WRC and the Toyota TS050 , a vehicle with which Fernando Alonso won the 24 Hours of Le Mans e year.

Without doubt, the Toyota GR Supra Super GT will not be a car that will go unnoticed , either because of its Japanese coupe aesthetic, its huge rear spoiler or its body slightly modified to take better advantage of the air flows during the runway. We will have to wait until January to discover it.
